Hi there! I’m Miriam

I’m currently freelancing in both the physical and digital design environments. I’d ultimately love to become a UX | UI designer. In between these two design careers I took a break to support Microsoft O365 end users on the technical side. I am always very excited to leverage the full breadth of my diverse skill set to help people and solve problems.

Humble beginnings

Back in 2019, I made the decision to transition from architectural design and enrolled with Google’s UX Design Professional Certification. I started learning UX design after work and on the weekends to add a creative outlet to my tech support position at that time and channel out with problem solving through digital design.

Over the next few years, I have continued on that path and enrolled in the Ultimate Figma Masterclass, taught myself WordPress, some HTML | CSS, designed a children’s book using book-bolt studio and created a few advertising campaign posters for friends’ startups and lots of other event flyers.

I have lived in three countries

I was born and raised in Uganda – Africa. Currently residing in the metro Atlanta area having lived in Canada (Regina, SK and Montreal, QC) prior to relocating to the United States. I am very fond of historic sites | landmarks | environments and gentrification projects. I also love immersing myself in new foods and cultures and have collaborated on projects across global teams. Seeing the world through a new lens and discovering what normal is from that perspective really motivates my wanderlust.
